Organizations We Have Volunteered For:

Central Kentucky Riding for Hope: At Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, Ladies Leads Group volunteered at the barn organizing items for the upcoming auction as well as cleaning/shining saddles. Central Kentucky Riding for Hope is dedicated to enriching the community by improving the quality of life and the health of children and adults with special physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs through therapeutic activities with horses.

 

Community Flood Clean-Up: Ladies Leads Group volunteered to help clean up homes and businesses in Irvine, Kentucky after a devasting flood that destroyed much of the community. This project was the hometown of one of our members.

Dress for Success: At Dress for Success, Ladies Leads Group helped organize clothing and jewelry donations. Dress for Success Lexington empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

​

God's Food Pantry: At God’s Food Pantry, Ladies Leads Group helped build boxes and label bags so items could be redistributed to families. God’s Food Pantry reduces hunger in Kentucky through community cooperation making the best possible use of all available resources.

​

Green House 17: At Green House 17, Ladies Leads Group helped organize clothing donations for women, children and families. Green House 17 is an advocacy agency committed to ending intimate partner abuse in families and the community.

​

Habitat for Humanity of Jessamine County: At Habitat for Humanity of Jessamine County, Ladies Leads Group helped build a home for a family in need. Habitat for Humanity of Jessamine County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization that builds homes for those less fortunate.

​

Hope Center: At the Hope Center, Ladies Leads Group helped serve lunch to the homeless men in our community. The Hope Center cares for homeless and at-risk persons by providing life-sustaining and life-rebuilding services that are comprehensive and address underlying causes.

​

Lexington Humane Society: At the Lexington Humane Society, Ladies Leads Group helped prep the merchandise for their annual Mutt Strut. After serving, we were given a tour of the facility and saw first hand the thousands of animals they support. The Lexington Humane Society is the largest pet adoption agency in Central Kentucky.

​

Lexington Rescue Mission: At the Lexington Rescue Mission, Ladies Leads Group prepared and served lunch to the underserved and underprivileged in our community. The Lexington Rescue Mission serves free hot lunches from 12 to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to anyone in need of a nutritious meal.

Lighthouse Ministries: At Lighthouse Ministries, Ladies Leads Group prepped and served meals to underprivileged community members. Lighthouse Ministries physically, nutritionally, and spiritually serve the homeless and low income members of our community.

​

The Living Arts and Science Center: At the Living Arts and Science Center, Ladies Leads Group worked together to create decorations for an upcoming fundraiser. The Living Arts and Science Center inspires participation in art and science by engaging the community through education, discovery exploration and creativity.

​

Military Missions:  At Military Missions, Ladies Leads Group made care packages for our troops. Individual team stations were set up to pack boxes with personal hygiene items, snacks and books/DVDs. Military Missions supports and honors deployed military personnel by sending care packages year round as an expression of appreciation and gratitude.

​

Mutt Strut: At the Mutt Strut, Ladies Leads Group ran the registration table, passed out t-shirts and walked dogs during the event. The Mutt Strut is a 5k and 1-mile Fun Walk that supports the needs of the Lexington Humane Society.

​

The Nest: Ladies Leads Group donated personal hygiene products to The Nest, an organization that provides high quality, comprehensive services to women, children and families in crisis, while working to prevent child abuse and neglect.

​

Purses, Pouts and Pearls: At Purses, Pouts and Pearls, Ladies Leads Group planned, organized and executed the fashion show during the VIP party. Purses, Pouts and Pearls is an American Cancer Society event. The American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people stay well and get well by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.

​

Ronald McDonald House: At the Ronald McDonald House, Ladies Leads Group cleaned and organized the house. The Ronald McDonald House is dedicated to supporting families with sick children in their time of need.

​

Susan G. Komen Virtual Race (during COVID-19): Ladies Leads Group fundraised and participated virtually in the annual 5K race. Several Ladies Leads Group members walked/ran the 5K.

​

Sweet Blessings: At Sweet Blessings, Ladies Leads Group got busy in the kitchen and helped create unforgettable birthday cakes for children living in poverty, with special needs or experiencing a life-threatening illness.
